KAPKA KANEVA

Born in 1978.
Kapka Kaneva's media of choice are painting, collage, paper plastic, illustration, book and graphic design. Her favorite field of expression is the collage, specifically paper collage.

"It gives me a great sense of freedom knowing that I can completely manipulate the material, its structure, and control the scale of the work plane at any given moment."

In her fragmented canvases Kapka effortlessly binds all the different materials together to create a snap-shot story, detailed and uncluttered at the same time, familiar yet exotic, promising yet sullen.

Many of Kapka's works are part of private collections in France, Germany, Norway, Greece, and the US.
In 2006 she became a resident at Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.

Kapka Kaneva has participated in exhibitions throughout Europe (Greece, Slovakia, France), as well as in Bulgaria. The award-winning artist has represented contemporary Bulgarian book art in several international illustration exhibitions and workshops.
