STEFAN BOZHKOV

Born in 1961.
During his career spanning two decades, Stefan Bozhkov has established himself as a renowned avant-garde graphic artist on the European art scene. He has represented contemporary Bulgarian graphic art at exhibitions and festivals around the world.
In 2004 Bozhkov took part in the residence program in Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, France.

His earlier works, created 1993-2007, derive mostly from the artist's inner life. The emerging situations and personages belong to the bizarre world of myths and dreams, out of which they spontaneously spring to life. Slav Nedev's expressionist brush depicts these distorted and often disproportioned creatures, seemingly taken by surprise by the fact of their own existence, funny and strange in an indifferent world.
