EVGENII KUZMANOV
Born in 1941.
Evgenii Kuzmanov is one of Bulgaria's most celebrated sculptors. For several decades Kuzmanov's works have enticed art lovers and experts alike in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, as well as in his homeland. His art is frequently shown at exhibitions in the UK, Russia, France and Italy.
A black marble eagle by Kuzmanov was presented to President Bill Clinton by the Bulgarian Parliament during a state visit in 1999. The sculpture is now on display at the White House.
Kuzmanov is renowned for his works in bronze and marble, with the eagle a reoccurring subject in his art.
A recipient of numerous awards for his sculptures, he is also an accomplished belletrist, author of 12 books.
Evgenii Kuzmanov teaches sculpture and painting at the Southwestern University in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
