ALEXANDAR ALEXOV

Born in 1950.
Alexandar Alexov is a renowned name in book illustration, working for publishing houses, and dealing especially with children's literature. He has illustrated over 40 books, both in color and in black & white.
In his homeland, Alexandar has put on 25 one-man shows. Abroad, he enjoys popular acclaim for his solo art shows in Switzerland, Holland, Slovakia, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Austria and Poland.

Alexandar exposes a peculiar yet beautiful world in his post-modern, surrealistic paintings. He prefers to bare his expressive style in etching, mixed media, aquatint on paper, and acrylic and oil on wood and canvas. Alexandar skilfully reduces all structures to geometrical forms that are both flat and three-dimensional. A master of evocation, Alexandar plays with symbols and colors, intriguing and challenging the viewer.
